"Burying Giants" was independently released in February 2021. It is an eight track release which serves as a culmination of the years spent in the vibrant and eccentric Beijing music scene.

Towards the end of 2019 just before the COVID pandemic Will returned to the UK to spend time with family only to find he was then unable to return to China. So he took upon himself to record this project as a way to keep the music alive.

Will is a self-taught musician in every sense. He has described "Burying Giants" as his 'crash course in just about everything'. Locking himself away in a friends studio in London, he spent the nights recording his Beijing-born folk songs in the studio and factory it was located. This allowed him to start capturing some of the more dark atmospherics his mixes are known for. After a month of isolation, Will finished recording the raw bones "Burying Giants", and after a few tweaks it was released to a world bound to sporadic lockdowns. In many ways Burying Giants was his way of keeping these Beijing songs alive but also coping with the craziness of what was happening then.

"Stormy Seas" was a track on this release which received acclaim from the likes of Mahogany, Alexrainbird Music and Indie Folk Central, helping to kickstart Will Pope's music career as an emerging folk artist.
